Professional Background

With 27 years of marketing and commercial experience across two FTSE100 and two family-owned businesses - including 11 years on various boards - Gary brings deep, practical expertise in both services and consumer products. He has led teams of over 500 people in more than 60 countries, giving him a nuanced understanding of how to influence stakeholders, navigate complexity, and deliver results at scale.

In his last corporate role as Global Brand Director of The Balvenie Single Malt, Gary grew global value market share from 4.4% to 4.9%, increasing brand value from $405M to $564M in just three years. He also reversed two decades of decline at Drambuie, delivering three years of consecutive growth (Source: IWSR).

Yet Gary believes today’s most impactful leaders do more than hit targets — they balance both performance and people. He helps clients lead in a way that is fit for today’s world: one where the compassion of recent years is giving way to pressure and relentless accountability. His approach equips leaders to:

  • Lead with purpose – Helping clients clarify what truly drives them, connect this to their day-to-day leadership, and avoid burnout or misalignment.

  • Influence effectively – Coaching clients to engage and align diverse stakeholders, communicate with authenticity, and build trust to drive sustainable change.

  • Empower teams – Enabling leaders to create environments where people speak up, step up, and thrive — even when the leader isn’t in the room.

Gary’s coaching is grounded in evidence and tailored to the unique context of each client. He holds a Master’s (MSc) in Coaching and Behaviour Change from Henley Business School, where he also conducted pioneering research on psychological safety in the workplace. His work with senior teams included leading diagnostic and board-level action planning to improve safety, voice, and inclusion.

Today, Gary works with leaders in FMCG, creative industries, professional services, and elite sports — helping them unlock their potential and create the conditions for others to do the same. His clients value his rare combination of commercial credibility, deep coaching expertise, and a pragmatic, human approach to leadership growth.
